Michael Fix – Classic Fix

Gorgeous set from Michael Fix last night at The BUg Folk Club, & I joined the queue which bought up all the albums he’d brought for sale!! So here’s one of those albums today as the soundtrack to my commute to work – “Classic FIX”. It’s Michael’s inimitable steel string guitar renditions of a range of well known classics, including his closing piece from last night – an incendiary version of (Wolfgang Amadeus) Bach’s Toccata in Dm!! Fabulous stuff from one of Australia’s premier solo guitarists!!

Can I add – the classics also include ‘Bouree’ (with a touch of jazz swing), ‘Eine Klein Nachtmusik’, ‘Pavane’, ‘Jesu, Joy Of Man’s Desiring’, ‘Rondo All Turca’ (for those whose pacemakers need to be moved up a notch in tempo),  and ‘Waltz In C Sharp Minor’ (for those who simply want to dance romantically off into the distance). Essential listening, all of it!!
