Welcome to my brand new blog – musicmatters.blog!! For quite some time, I’ve been wanting to find a home for the various aspects of my music writing – record reviews, interviews, concert reviews and technical recording articles. Now, thanks to the fabulous skills of Peta McDonald-Smith at Moonstone Creative, the dream is a reality.
As you can see, if you trawl through the blog, there’s quite a bit of content already. I’ve combed through the archives and hauled out some of my past record reviews, both long form and snappy ‘commute to work’ format, a couple of articles including artist bio and technical recording formats, and there’s a short list of links which will likely become a whole lot longer over time.
So feel free to come back and browse from time to time – there will be more from the archive, the odd ‘commute to work’ and ‘daily walk’ review, and a steady stream of interviews with some of my favourite performing and recording artists. I can truly affirm that for my whole life, I’ve lived by a simple creed – music matters!!
